Bennett Farms, Milford, Delaware

Anyone who has traveled on Route 1 (aka Coastal Highway) in Sussex Delaware, has passed by the pristine red and white structures situated on Bennett Farms, located south of Milford. The farm is a familiar gateway landmark. The property is exceptionally well cared for, and all of Sussex benefits from its beauty and wholesome message of family farming. The Bennett family also operates an agricultural museum on the southbound side of Route 1.

Beautiful in its natural setting of white fences, red barns and silver silos, I gave this image an older look  — a nod to the family’s love of history. The time was 7 p.m. and rays from the setting sun bounced off the grain silos, beckoning me to pull over to the side of the road and take this shot. The sky was harmonious with big fluffy, Cumulus clouds softly resting in their harbor of blue. The color version is lovely too, but I liked this rendition best.
