Breaking the rules for beauty

And the sign said, “No Parking, Standing or Stopping at Any Time.” As motorists race down busy Route 1 (Coastal Highway) southbound to the beaches, I can understand why they don’t want cars or people stopping over the short bridge or overpass to fish in or admire the beauty of Waples Pond, near Milton, DE.

But if you ride by the pond at sunset, you can capture some amazing sunsets. Driving back from Harrington, I noticed an unusual cloud pattern in the western sky. I had legitimately captured a farm scene minutes before, so I knew it would be reflected in Waples Pond.  Would I risk getting a ticket?

The black speck on the lower right side is a piece of wood or tree stump emerging out of the water.

I stayed in the driver’s seat, put the car in park, left the engine on and lowered the passenger-side window.

You can see the same cloud pattern in the farm scene I took minutes before.

For this photo, I added 20% HDR filter.
